"Grindz – I believe that a clean grinder is key to great coffee, and this is the part of our work we forget about. When you show people how coffee from a clean grinder can taste, their eyes go really wide open."

How did you get into the coffee industry? When did you know you wanted to turn your passion for coffee into a career?

My start in coffee was an accident – I was looking for a part-time job for the summer. At the beginning, I just liked it. It is very hard for me to say when I changed from job to something more.

What’s the best piece of coffee-related advice you’ve received?

Don’t repeat information about coffee without checking it first.

What is the reaction you receive when you tell someone outside the coffee community that you are a champion barista competitor?

“There is such thing???”

What is your favorite Urnex product and why?

Grindz – I believe that a clean grinder is key to great coffee, and this is the part of our work we forget about. When you show people how coffee from a clean grinder can taste, their eyes go really wide open.

What makes coffee culture unique in your country?

We are eager for more – we are still an emerging country, but with great need to learn more.

What is your favorite brew method at home?

I don’t make coffee at home – I don’t even have coffee equipment.

What’s one thing you’d like an average person to know about specialty coffee?

Acidity in coffee is not a bad thing.

Where would you like to be and what would you like to be doing 5 years from now?

I hope I will still be that person that loves making coffee.

When you first entered competitions, did you ever think you would be WBC champion? What were your goals in competing initially?

No … this one was unachievable. But I dream to be the World Latte Art Champion one day.
